- Why didn’t anyone alert me to the fact that April is National Grilled Cheese Month? Do we not honour such holy days in Canada?
- Something else Canada may be lacking: the Feminist Majority Foundation reported yesterday that “Melanne Verveer was confirmed by the Senate Friday as the United States’ first Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues.” Well, where’s ours?
- At least we’re reading: Canadian book sales are up.
- Now here’s a Canadian burlesque dancer I can get behind (so to speak): “Bodies are funny, they’re fleshy and they wobble around. I mean, really, it’s silly.” Thank you, Coco!
- Think pelvic exams are supposed to hurt? At Your Cervix is a documentary about the way medical students are trained to conduct them (think patients under general anesthetic) and a program in NYC that teaches med students the proper way to do them by using patients as teachers. Ca-razay!
- In case you haven’t caught this already, Thunder and Lightning, aka Michelle Obama’s arms, have their own blog now.
- I know you already know that Dooce appeared on Oprah yesterday, talking about motherhood and promoting her new book (which she discussed with the National Post yesterday). She doesn’t need any more exposure, except I do just want to put on public record that reading Heather’s website when my kid was a newborn was one thing that made me feel like I wasn’t totally alone.
- Obviously, Deborah Grey and I are on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but you gotta love the old broad for her ballsy approach towards, well, everything.
