On the one hand I can see how some people can think these stereotypes still exist, but I cannot see how anyone can agree that they should still be propogated. I did get a kick out of 'boys are heroes'/'girls are heroines' instead of 'girls are damsels in distress'. I'm sure that was considered progressive at the time.
